On Sunday, 20th September 2015, Sidhu, a national-level shooter, and advocate was shot and killed. The incident happened at a park in Sector 27 in Chandigarh. During the investigation, it was found that A.12 bor gun was used to commit the crime and 4 bullets were open fired at him. In the year 2016, the murder case was assigned to the CBI after which the agency lodged an FIR and started the investigation. Sidhu had come back from Canada 2 days prior to his killing. Sidhu’s mother Deepinder Kaur Sidhu stated that it was Kalyani who asked his son to come to the park on the day he was killed. As per official information, the CBI had discovered proof suggesting that Sidhu and Kalyani Singh were close to each other and had an affair.
