Odessa’s family is urging anyone with information regarding her death to come forward and help detectives piece together what happened that fateful morning. The incident occurred Sunday in Odessa, Texas, and took place outside of the New Life Church located at 742 East 10th Street. The incident also ended with the young victim dead, but not before she attempted to use her vehicle as a weapon to kill her attacker. A police spokesperson did not confirm that the victim killed herself or was in fact murdered. A woman found murdered, her car and body set on fire reveal how she may have died.

Police in Georgia believe the death of Shedricia Odessa Smith, 34, confirms other women died in similar circumstances in her car. Inquest findings suggest that Ms. Smith was strangled before her body was set ablaze. According to authorities and witnesses, the victim had gotten into an argument with the gunman and then walked away from the scene. After about twenty minutes the gunman followed her back to her neighborhood and proceeded to run her over with her car, killing her. When questioned by police, The victim said that she had been running from the gunman and that she “thought it was safe” to be driving in the neighborhood since he wasn’t following her anymore. She then went on to say that “She was not trying to fight” or run away from him. The police are investigating the motive behind Smith’s murder and are asking for the public’s help in identifying her killer.
