The police officers spotted the two accused inside the car. The police stated that when they approached it, the man direr run away northeast and after that 2 officers chased him. In the meantime, the 26-year-old victim named Leonna Hale reportedly came out of the vehicle and informed the investigating officers that there was a pistol is kept inside the car. Apart from being pregnant at the time of firing, there is not much information available about Hale. As per authorities, 2 officers then without thinking allegedly opened fire at her. In this incident, she was severely wounded and instantly admitted to the local hospital. As per her current health status of her, she is reportedly in a stable condition.

Police also caught the male accused and took him to the local hospital for an unconnected medical problem. This case is now handled by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and they currently investigating the matter. In a social media post, she stated that Hale first came out of the vehicle and already raised her hands to view that she did not have any kind of weapon or gun with her. She then seemingly started to flee, feared as the police came “towards Hale with carrying guns in their hands.” The witness stated the police shot her. This video went viral on social media like wildfire and gets thousands of views on it. People are sharing their thoughts on this video and backlashing the Kansas police for their violent action toward a black pregnant woman.
