As per the statement given by her daughter, Paula Chambers, the late actress passed away due because of congestive heart failure. She was the last surviving child of Katharine Bixby and Preston Hotchkis, civic leaders in LA with national and statewide influence all over the last century who direct every single thing from the Metropolitan Water District to the society whose name is “California Historical Society”. She was a bright student who completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology which she obtained from Smith College and after completing that she earned her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

Prior to becoming an actor she became a teacher in nursery school and gave her services in New York. In the year 1954, she decided to earn her luck in acting and at that time she was 27 years old. She gave many auditions and get the leading role in the show “The Rainmaker” where she played the role of Lizzie. This show was held at the Players Ring Theater in Hollywood. Later on, she came back to New York she became part of The Actors Studio and was cast in guest spots and in Television commercials. In this studio, she met her husband, director Bob Faster. She tied the wedding knot to Bob in the year 1958 and with whom she shared her daughter Paula.

She would go on to be cast in the soap opera “The Secret Storm”. She makes her debut in the year 1960 on Broadway. Her marriage was not last long and she parted her in the year 1967 and came back to Los Angeles where she began her life and had guest spots on shows like General Hospital and Bewitched. She played many wonderful roles in several plays, films and on the television screen but she knows for her role in The Odd Couple. She was diagnosed with meningioma and had it successfully surgically removed permitting her years to be more wonderful and productive. Her fans are now sad after her demise and praying for the salvation of her soul.
